Seismic Refraction & MASW
Here we go...First refraction seismic campaign of the year. And many that are being prepared! Great results in the refraction seismic and MASW campaign for a mining company in Spain. The objective of the seismic refraction and MASW survey is to define the values of the speed (Vp and Vs) at which seismic energy travel through soil and rock. The common application of this technique is to estimate rippability before excavation, mapping depth to groundwater and depth bedrock, identification and mapping of faults, calculation of elastic module, assessment of rock quality, mapping thickness of landslide, Vs30 site classification, etc.
